Product information "Kelim Afshar"
The city of Hamadan and its surrounding villages are very productive areas for rug weaving. Each village produces unique carpets with colourful, charming and primitive motifs. A wide range of floral or geometric patterns on red, blue or beige backgrounds, individual to each village, characterise these inspiring rugs. Ardebil is one of these Iranian villages. The flatweaves from this region are also particularly exciting. Influenced by Caucasian designs, Ardebil kilims often feature a large-scale geometric pattern in bright and vivid colours.
