The rugs from the Paradayda collection are a tribute to the magnificent gardens of Persia. More important than one's own house, were the gardens, full of exotic flowers. Protected behind high walls, a paradise on earth, lined with groves of palm, orange, date or almond trees. The smell that hangs in the air is as intense as it is soothing, and the variety of colours and shapes as radiant as it is soothing. The oldest landscaped gardens in the world are found in Persia. They are the forerunner of the breathtaking baroque gardens in Europe, such as those at Versailles. No wonder the word paradise was derived from the ancient Persian word "paradaidha", meaning garden. This world of dazzling Persian gardens is what we want to find again in the floral patterns of the Paradayda collection. In the brilliant colours that reflect the sun and in the soothing yet exciting tones that adorn these rugs. The pile is made of pure new wool and sumptuously shiny viscose. The base fabric is made of cotton and thus provides a firm foundation for the carpet, as well as the earth for the gardens. For this reason, each carpet bears the melodious name of a fruit variety or a flower that can be found in Persian gardens.
