Product information "Sumak Shahsavan"
The Sumak Shahsavan is a variant of the flat woven Sumak, which is produced in shot wrap technology. Shahsavan means "those who love the king". The name refers to the nomadic trunk, which under Shah Abbas guarded the northern border of Iran to the big one. The Shahsavana tribe is a confederation of several Turkish -speaking tribes of different ethnic origin that live in the northwestern part of Iran. Your flat tissue is known for your unique craft because it is very similar to embroidery. It appears embroidered on the front, on the back you can see the loose ends of the yarn. In general, Geometric Caucasian patterns are traditional on a background with small elements such as animals, humans and plants, etc. Many of them have soft, almost pastel -colored colors, combined with stronger tones such as red or blue. In addition to wool, the weavers also also use silk in their designs.
