Product information "Hosseinabad"
The city of Hamadan in the West of Iran and its surrounding villages are known for being very productive areas for rug knotting. At this, each village makes unique rugs which are characterized by their intense colours, and playful motifs, which are inspired by their daily life. Each village, of course, has its own motifs and colour schemes. The Hosseinabad rugs are known for their great value in quality and price. Often they use the so called "Herati" or „Mahi“ motif in repetition, which is then scattered throughout the background of the rug. Usually the weavers use mainly red, blue, cream and sometimes even green.
