Timeless Elegance: The Urban Rugs of our Traditional Collections

A tribute to traditional craftsmanship and classic beauty.

Who We Are

A Hamburg-based family business in its 6th generation

City rugs are high-quality, hand-knotted Persian rugs produced in well-known weaving cities such as Nain, Tabriz, Sarough, Isfahan, and Kashan. They are known for fine craftsmanship, high knot density, and highly detailed designs.

Nain rugs are famous for their soft color palette (ivory, blue, beige), fine kork wool, and delicate floral patterns. Many Nain rugs have extremely high knot counts, especially in 6La and 4La qualities.

Tabriz rugs often feature medallion designs, detailed borders, and precise weaving. They are known for durability and symmetrical knots, making them one of the most recognizable Persian city rugs.

Sarough rugs are known for their warm colors (red, navy, beige) and floral patterns. They are durable, thick, and often produced with very high-quality wool, making them great for everyday use.

Both are durable, but city rugs usually have a finer, tighter weave and more accuracy in the patterns. Tribal rugs are thicker and more rustic, while city rugs are refined and artistic.

City workshops use trained master weavers who focus on precision and detail. High knot density allows complex floral motifs, medallions, and curved patterns that tribal or village rugs cannot achieve.

Many traditional city rugs use natural dyes, but some newer ones may combine natural and synthetic dyes. High-quality Nain, Tabriz, Sarough, and Isfahan rugs often use natural or premium mixed dyes.

Most city rugs use fine kork wool, cotton foundations, and sometimes silk highlights for extra detail. High-end Tabriz and Isfahan rugs may contain pure silk.

Yes. Their elegant patterns and sophisticated color combinations work well in modern, classic, and luxury interiors. Neutral-toned Nain and Isfahan rugs are especially popular in contemporary homes.

Vacuum gently and avoid brushing the fringes. For deep cleaning, always use a specialist who handles fine hand-knotted rugs, especially those with silk or very high knot density.

The price depends on the city’s weaving tradition, knot density, materials (wool vs. silk), age, and the reputation of the workshop. Nain 4La, Tabriz silk carpets, and Isfahan rugs are usually among the most expensive.

Yes. Rugs from cities like Isfahan, Nain, Tabriz, and silk rugs are highly collectible due to their craftsmanship and long-term value.
