Product information "Serapi"
Serapi are one of the rarest and most sought after rugs. At the beginning of the 20th century, these rugs were knotted in the mountains of northwestern Persia. Their design is very similar to the Heriz, but their weave is finer and they tend to have more large-scale patterns. They come in soft pastel colors and were the favorite rugs of Americans, who used them especially in federal buildings, such as the White House. The name derives from the fact that weavers in the mountains had to take the rugs to the nearest town, which was called Serab. So people started calling the rugs "Serapi", rugs that you can buy in Serapi.
