Moud rugs are manufactured in the Eastiranian city of Moud. They are known for fine knottings on cotton base with wool of good quality, which are usually cut low and often mixed with silk to highlight details in the patterns. Red, white and light blue are the dominant colors of these rugs and they are often decorated with geometric and floral patterns. A distinction is made between Moud Mahi and Moud Garden. Each square represents a motif from these gardens. Typically, floral patterns, which are known as "mahi", are repeated in these rugs.
