Yalameh rugs are made by the semi-nomad tribe with the same name that has Gashgai origins. The typical soft structure is because of the traditional use of wool for warp and weft. The rugs occur in vivid colours, and their designs are based on hooked diamonds, rhombs or squares. These geometrical motifs are combined with smaller traditional motifs which are scattered throughout the background of the rug. For nomadic rugs, the Yalameh have very fine and dense knots and impress with high quality.
