This rug is a unique and handmade product

Serapi are one of the rarest and desirable rugs. At the beginning of the 20th century, these rugs were woven in the mountains of Northwest Persia. Their design is very close to the Heriz but their knotting is finer and they tend to have more large-scale designs. They come in soft pastel colours, and were the favorite rugs of the Americans, who especially used them in federal buildings, such as the White House. The name derives from the fact, that the weavers in the mountains had to bring the rugs to the next city, which was Serab. Thus people started to call the rugs "Serapi", rugs you can buy in Serapi.

This rug holds a signature in the left bottom corner which says "Emami".
