This Kelim is a unique and handmade product
The village of Harsin is located in the Kurdish province in the deep west of Iran. The town is inhabited only by a few Kurdish families who traditionally hand-weave Kelim Harssin. The weaving technique arises from their Kurdish tradition. Mostly they use hand-spun and thick sheep wool. The Kelim are usually thicker, heavier and more robust than other flatweaves. Since there are only a few families and weavers left in this village, the Kelim Harssin are also becoming increasingly rare. They are therefore real collectors' items.
