Nomadic & Village Rugs
There are still multiple nomadic tribes living in Iran. Some of them have partially settled around villages and bigger cities, but they still use their traditional techniques to design and produce their rugs. These rugs are as diverse as the parts of Iran they live in. Rugs from nomads living around Shiraz, in the South of Iran, are known for their smaller traditional motifs scattered throughout the background and warm colors. Rugs from Bakthiar, coming from the Iranian mountains of Sagros, persuade with their floral garden motifs. All these handmade nomadic rugs are individually made without drawings or models and will always have some variation in design, straightness, workmanship, colour or size.
